Khu Liên’s revolt establishes Lâm Ấp
Labels: Khu Li, L mChinese records describe a local leader known as Khu Liên (also called Sri Mara) leading a revolt in the region of Tượng Lâm and forming the kingdom later known in Vietnamese as Lâm Ấp (Chinese: Linyi). This marks the start of a politically organized Cham-centered state in what is now central Vietnam. Later sources debate details, but 192 CE is widely used as the conventional founding date.
