Perrin and Egwene are captured by Children of the Light led by Geofram Bornhald. Hopper the wolf is killed in the fight, Elyas escapes.
On the road to Caemlyn, Rand and Mat earn their money by playing in inns using the training Thom gave them on the boat. In Four Kings they are approached by a darkfriend but manage to get away.
Another darkfriend tries to kill Rand and Mat. They manage to lock her up and continue their journey to Caemlyn.
Rand and Mat arrive in Caemlyn and find lodging at The Queen's Blessing. Rand meets Loial the ogier in the inn's library.

While looking at Logain Ablar, Rand accidentally falls in the royal garden and meets Elayne, Gawyn and Galad. He is brought to queen Morgase and Elaida. Once released he returns to the inn, where the party is reunited. They decide to use the Ways to reach the Eye of the World, under protest from Loial who joins them.
The party exits the Ways after a chilling encounter of Machin Shin in sight of Fal Dara and make their way to the borderland city.
The party find the Green Man, but also two forsaken, at the Eye of the World. The Green Man dies in an encounter with the Balthamel but manages to destroy him. Rand and Aginor fight over the power of the Eye but Aginor draws too much and dies.
Rand suddenly finds himself at Tarwin's Gap while fleeing after watching Aginor die. Seeing the borderlanders battle the invading trollocs, he blasts the trollocs with lightning.
Where the Eye used to be, the party find a broken seal, the Horn of Valere and the Dragon Banner.
The party arrives back at Fal Dara. Moiraine tells lord Agelmar, who wants to use the Horn of Valere against the shadow, that it must be taken to Illian where it belongs.

Perrin overhears a conference of some of the Forsaken in the dream world Tel'Aran'rhiod.
Trollocs and Fades attack the camp in the night.
When perrin wakes up he discovers Rand is gone. Loial, Moiraine, Lan and Perrin follow Rand.
Rand passes through Jarra, his ta'veren presence causing a large number of weddings.
Perrin's party find signs that Rand has recently traveled through Jarra. Perrin meets another man who can speak to wolves, but he has lost his humanity.
Rand kills a darkhound using balefire.
Dain Bornhaldt tries to block Egwene, Mat and the others from entering Tar Valon, but Verin stops him.
Egwene, Elayne, Nynaeve, Verin and Mat arrive in Tar Valon.
Verin meets with Siuan the Amyrlin and gives her the Horn of Valere.
Egwene and Nynaeve are assigned by the Amyrlin Seat to chase the Black Ajah. They are attacked by a Gray Man on the tower grounds.

Mat wins a great deal of money gambling in Tar Valon. He encounters Thom and they travel to Caemlyn together to deliver the letter.
Perrin meets Faile in Remen. Perrin and the others leave Remen by river after Perrin rescues the aiel prisoner Gaul. Faile joins them.
Rand kills a group of darkfriends in a quite disturbing way.
Egwene, Elayne and Nynaeve abandon their ship after it is run aground and decide to walk to Jurene to find a new one. They meet Aviendha and some Maidens of the Spear.
Tom and Mat arrive in Aringill. They save Aludra the illuminator, who gives them some fireworks as a token of thanks.
Perrin's party arrives in Illian. Moiraine finds out Illian is ruled by one of the forsaken and they leave in the night, chased and attacked by Darkhounds.
While on the road to Caemlyn, Mat and Thom are attacked by darkfriends.
When Mat sneaks into the palace to deliver the letter to Morgase, Mat overhears a plot to kill Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne. Immediately, Thom and Mat leave towards Tear to help them.
Mat and Thom board a ship bound for Tear.
Egwene's party arrives in Tear. They find a thief-catcher to help them track the black ajah down.
Mat and Thom arrive in Tear and start searching for the girls.
Perrin's party arrives in Tear.
Nynaeve just misses Rand when the Black Ajah captures Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne.
After Thom falls ill Mat continues to search for the girls alone. When he finds out where they had been staying and that they have been imprisoned in the Stone of Tear, he goes to rescue them.
Perrin enters the dream world to rescue Faile after she fell in a trap from the black ajah meant for Moiraine.
Mat uses his fireworks which he adapted to blast his way into the Stone of Tear. He just misses Rand, who is on his way to the Heart of the Stone.
Mat breaks the girls out of their prison, but as they had already almost escaped by themselves they are not thankful.
Rand fights with Ba'alzamon and the forsaken Be'lal until Moiraine kills Be'lal. Then Rand fulfills the prophecy of the Karaethon Cycle by retrieving the legendary sword and Sa'Angreal Callandor.
Using Callandor, Rand chases Ba'alzamon through the dream world until he kills him and declares himself the Dragon Reborn.
Moiraine reveals to Mat, Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne that Ba'alzamon was not really Ba'alzamon, but someone posing as him. They discover that the Aiel are the prophesied People of the Dragon.
Logain, Elayne and Gawyn arrive at Tar Valon.
The Amyrlin seat Siuan Sanche arrives in Fal Dara. Trollocs attack Fal Dara, Padan Fain escapes and the Horn of Valere and Mat's dagger are stolen.
Siuan and Moiraine tell Rand he is the dragon reborn. Rand, Mat and Perrin accompany Ingtar and his men to recapture the horn, and Mat's dagger.
Egwene and Nynaeve accompany the Amyrlin's party to Tar Valon
Moiraine and Lan stealthily leave the Amyrlin's party.
After crossing the river Erinin the hunters find a Fade slowly dying nailed to the door in an abandoned village. Rand discovers Moiraine put the dragon banner in his bags.
The Amyrlin's party continues their journey to Tar Valon on the river.
Rand, Loial and thief-catcher Hurin wake up in another world. Hurin can still sense the darkfriend's trail, so they decide to follow it.
Finding Rand and the others vanished, Ingtar needs a new way to follow the darkfriends. Perrin poses as a sniffer using his wolf senses.
Verin joins the search party for the Horn.
Rand, Loial and Hurin find a monument on the field of Talidar depicting an alternate history where the trollocs beat Artur Hawkwing. Rand rescues Selene and uses another portal stone to bring them back to their own world.
Rand's party finds Fain's camp and Rand steals back the dagger and the Horn of Valere.
Rand's party stumbles upon the excavation of a massive ancient statue of a man holding a sphere near the village of Tremonsien.
Nynaeve passes the test and becomes an Accepted.
Egwene becomes a Novice.
Rand meets Thom, who he thought died fighting the fade. Later on he and the others are attacked in the Foregate by trollocs. They hide in an Illuminator's house which gets burned down by the fireworks in the chaos.
Egwene meets Elayne, who takes her to see Min, who tells her about the visions she sees. Egwene also meets Gawyn and Galad in the tower garden.
Ingtar's party enters Cairhien.
Bayle Domon is captured by the Seanchan.
After a series of increasingly highly ranked nobles send party invitations to Rand he is forced to accept one of them when the horn and dagger are stolen again and Hurin tracks the horn to the mansion of lord Barthanes Damodred.
Rand attends the party and receives a threat from Padan Fain telling him to go to Toman Head. When trying to open the waygate Machin Shin is waiting for them.
After Machin Shin is once again waiting for them at the waygate at stedding Tsofu, Rand uses another portal stone to travel to Toman's head.
Liandrin tells Egwene and Nynaeve that Rand is in danger. Min and Elayne, who overheard, travel with them into the ways.
Liandrin and the girls arrive on Toman Head. Liandrin betrays them to the Seanchan causing Egwene and Min to get captured.
After seeing many alternate lives while traveling with the portal stone Rand's party arrive at Toman Head only to discover that months have passed since when they left.
Hurin finds the trail of the horn to the Seanchan-controlled city Falme.
Rand, Mat, Perrin, Ingtar and Hurin enter Falme to retrieve the horn and the dagger. Rand kills the Seanchan lord keeping it, earning the title of blademaster. They try to escape with the horn and the dagger.
Elayne and Nynaeve, together with Min who was released because she could not channel, rescue Egwene from the Seanchan.
Ingtar reveals he was a darkfriend, but as a last sacrifice for the light sacrifices himself so the others can get away.
In the escape Mat blows the horn of Valere and summons the Heroes of the Horn. The Seanchan are driven away, Rand has a massive battle in the sky with Ba'alzamon and kills him after being wounded in the side. He falls unconscious.
Egwene, Elayne, Nynaeve, Mat and Hurin leave for Tar Valon where Mat can be healed from the dagger and the girls can continue their training.
Rand wakes up. Moiraine has arrived in Falme and tells him he must declare himself the Dragon Reborn. She shows him two broken seals.
Suroth assumes command of the Hailene, or the Return.

The stone of Tear is attacked by gray men and other shadowspawn. Rand destroys them all and tries to bring a little girl who died back to life, but fails.
Egwene meets Amys in Tel'aran'rhiod who invites her to come to the waste to learn from the dreamwalkers.
Perrin and Faile, accompanied by Loial, Gaul, Bain and Chiad enter the ways to go to the Two Rivers after rumours of trouble with Whitecloaks arrive in Tear.
Elayne and Nynaeve leave for Tanchico on a Sea Folk ship and find out the sea folk windfinders can channel. Thom and Juilin accompany them.
After driving Callandor into the Heart of the Stone, Rand leaves Tear with Mat, Egwene, Moiraine and Lan using a portal stone.
After the journey with the Portal Stone the party arrives at Chaendaer where Rand demands the right to enter Rhuidean.
Rand and Mat enter Rhuidean. Rand enters the glass columns and sees the lives of his Aiel ancestors and witnesses the drilling in the bore of the Dark One's prison.
Mat enters a doorway ter'angreal and encounters the Eelfinn.
Perrin's party leaves the Ways at the Manetheren waygate. In his dreams he chases Slayer to the Tower of Ghenjei
Perrin sees the burnt and abandoned al'Thor farm.
Perrin arrives in Emond's Field and finds out his entire family has been murdered. He is taken to Verin, Alanna, Tam and Abell Cauthon who are hiding in the woods.
After meeting Lord Luc and convincing some farmers to seek refuge from the trollocs in Emond's Field Perrin rescues the captured Luhhan and Cauthon families from the Whitecloaks.
Rand comes back from the glass columns and finds Mat hanging from a branch of Avendesora. He revives him and they leave Rhuidean
The Wise Ones make Aviendha keep an eye on Rand.
On their way to Cold Rocks Hold, the Aiel are attacked by trollocs at Imre Stand.
Elayne, Nynaeve, Thom and Juilin arrive in Tanchico, where they encounter Bayle Domon.
After some time spent chasing and killing trollocs, Perrin visits his family's grave. In the Wolf Dream he finds out Slayer re-opened the waygate.
Taren Ferry is completely destroyed by trollocs
Loial and Gaul leave to close the Waygate. Emond's Field is attacked by over 500 trollocs, but the people manage to hold them off following Perrin as their leader.
Bornhald and the Whitecloaks attempt to arrest Perrin as a darkfriend.
Nynaeve and Elayne are attacked on the streets of Tanchico but manage to escape with the help of Egeanin Tamarath.
Moghedien comes to Nynaeve and Elayne's room and asks them questions under compulsion.
Aes Sedai lead by Elaida depose Siuan Sanche, stilling her and Leane.
Min rescues Siuan and Leane, and with Gawyn's help they escape Tar Valon together with Logain.
Rand's party arrives at Cold Rocks Hold and are attacked by shadowspawn. They leave again almost immediately for Alcair Dal.
Bayle Domon reveals Egeanin is Seanchan. Nynaeve finds what they have been searching for in the Tel'aran'rhiod, where she meets the legendary Birgitte and finds out the forsaken Moghedien is also on the hunt.
In the Panarch's palace Nynaeve and Elayne find a seal to the Dark One's prison and the Sad Bracelets, A'dam made for men. Nynaeve duels Moghedien and wins, but Moghedien manages to escape.
Emond's field is attacked by a massive force of trollocs. They manage to hold out with help arriving just in time from Watch Hill and Deven Ride.
Rand arrives at Alcair Dal and is accepted as the Aiel Chief of Chiefs: The Car'a'carn after revealing what he saw in the glass columns. Lanfear reveals she and Asmodean had been traveling with them for some time, but now Asmodean has fled to Rhuidean.
Rand chases Asmodean to Rhuidean and defeats him. Lanfear shields Asmodean and leaves him to be Rand's teacher in the One Power.
Padan Fain arrives in Tar Valon.
After they are convicted of burning a barn, Siuan, Leane and Min give oaths to serve the local lord, Gareth Bryne. However, after they do this Logain helps them escape.
After darkhounds attack the Aiel camp, the Shaido leave for the Jangai Pass. Rand decides to follow them.
Nynaeve and Elayne are drugged with the plant Forkroot, and are to be brought to the White Tower. Thom and Juilin help them escape.
Using her old intelligence network, Siuan discovers a gathering of Aes Sedai in the village of Salidar.
Nynaeve meets Egwene in Tel'aran'rhiod and learns that Siuan has been deposed. After encountering Galad, Elayne and Nynaeve decide to change disguises and join Valan Luca's menagerie.
Moghedien takes command of the black ajah runaways.
Couladin and the Shaido devastate the town of Taien.
Morgase manages to free herself of Rahvin's compulsion and flees Caemlyn with a small group of loyal followers.
Padan Fain finds the cursed dagger from Shadar Logoth and leaves Tar Valon.
Aviendha gives Rand the sword of the late King of Cairhien resonsible for starting the Aiel war, Laman Damodred
Rand's army arrives at Taien. At night, the camp is attacked by Trollocs and Darkfriends, Rand and Aviendha are attacked by Draghkar.
Rand and his army find Selean also destroyed by the Shaido.
Siuan and the others arrive in Salidar. Gareth Bryne, who followed them, agrees to lead the rebel army against Elaida.
Rand and his forces arrive at Eianrod to find it had already been abandoned before Couladin got there.
In a panic after Rand sees her naked, Aviendha travels to somewhere in Seanchan. Rand follows her into the snows, and trying to keep her warm leads to them making love.
Moghedien rips Birgitte from Tel'aran'rhiod. To save her life, Elayne bonds her as her warder.
The menagerie enters Samara. Nynaeve meets Uno who leads her to Masema, now known as The Prophet. She asks him to secure a boat for her. She also meets Galad, and asks him to secure a boat as well.
Rand assembles his forces near Cairhien and plans to use a watchtower to channel from in the coming fight.
Rand and his Aiel defeat the Shaido. Every Aiel except the Shaido are now united under him. Mat kills Couladin in the fight.
After leaving the menagerie, Nynaeve's party manages to board the River Serpent in complete chaos and leaves Samara.
Elayne and the others arrive at Salidar. Min tells Elayne that she loves Rand.
After learning of Morgase's supposed death, Rand decides to kill Rahvin. After Mat's remarkable adventures during the battle of Cairhien, his army the Band of the Red Hand grows quickly.
Lanfear discovers Rand slept with another woman and she is furious. When she attacks, Moiraine sacrifices herself and tackles Lanfear into a doorway ter'angreal.
Lan says he cannot sense Moiraine any more and Rand blames himself for her death. He discovers Moiraine already knew part of what would happen today. Despite the events of the day, he decides to follow through with the attack on Rahvin.
Rand kills Rahvin with balefire and Nynaeve captures Moghedien in Tel'aran'rhiod. Later, Asmodean is killed by an unknown assailant. Davram Bashere arrives in Caemlyn in his chase of Mazrim Taim, but Rand announces an amnesty for all men who can channel.
Demandred visits Shayol Ghul and meets Shaidar Haran.
The rebel Aes Sedai embassy leaves Salidar, heading to Caemlyn.
Mazrim Taim arrives in Caemlyn. Rand makes him the leader of The Farm, a training ground for male channelers.

A messenger from Sammael arrives in Caemlyn asking for a truce. Rand rejects the offer and the messenger dies.
Rand goes to Cairhien, where he is forced to hang Mangin for murder.
Rand seals the Waygate at Shadar Logoth. While in the city, one of the Maidens of the Spear is lost.
Mat comes across a killed caravan of Tinkers.

Back in Caemlyn, Rand receives several letters, among them one of the queen of Ghealdan expressing worry about Masema, the self proclaimed Prophet of the Dragon. After receiving them he is attacked by a Gray Man, but Taim kills it.
Nynaeve invents a way to heal Stilling. She heals Logain, Leane and Siuan.
Eamon Valda arrives in Amador. Morgase signs a treaty allowing the whitecloaks in Andor.
In a meeting in Tel'aran'rhiod, Egwene is summond to the Aes Sedai in Salidar.
After he finally learns the location of the rebel Aes Sedai, Rand sends Mat to them to lead Elayne to Andor.
Egwene travels through Tel'aran'rhiod in the flesh and arrives in Salidar. She is raised to the Amyrlin Seat.
Mat arrives in Salidar only to discover that Egwene is the Amyrlin Seat. Aviendha meets Elayne, who refuses to come with him to Caemlyn.
Min arrives in Caemlyn with an embassy of Aes Sedai to the Dragon Reborn from the rebel group in Salidar.
Elayne makes a gateway to Altara, near Ebou Dar, for her, Nynaeve and Mat accompanied by some of his armsmen.
Perrin and Faile arrive in Caemlyn together with the Two Rivers men. Perrin meets Faile's parents, Davram Bashere and his wife Deira.
Mat and the others arrive in Ebou Dar. Elayne and Nynave take rooms in the Tarasin Palace and talk with Queen Tylin while Mat finds a room in the inn the Wandering Woman.
More Aes Sedai arrive in Caemlyn, bringing the number of Aes Sedai in the rebel embassy to 13. Rand had forbidden this, so he leaves for Cairhien with Min, Perrin and Faile.

When Rand discovers Min was also taken by the Aes Sedai he gets into a rage and kills two warders.

Perrin discovers that Rand has been kidnapped.
Calavaere is crowned as the queen of Cairhien.
Elaida orders Toveine Gazal to capture the men at the Black Tower with 50 sisters.
Eamon Valda becomes Lord Captain Commander as Pedron Niall is assasinated.
Rand's rescuers engage the Aes Sedai force allied with the Shaido Aiel at Dumai's wells. He manages to break free of the shield that is holding him and stills a few Aes Sedai. During the battle, Taim arrives with men from the Black Tower and they absolutely decimate the Shaido in a violent display of the One Power.
Rand hands the captured Aes Sedai over to te Aiel Wise Ones. Upon returning to Cairhien, he exiles Colavaere, who plotted with the Aes Sedai to take the throne.
Rand visits Bashere in Caemlyn who is building an army from the men who come to the Black Tower but cannot channel.
Rand visits his armies and plans to give the order to advance on Illian.
Rand retrieves the two access keys to the Choedan Kal from Rhuidean.
Aran'gar releases Moghedien from her captors and Moghedien is sent to Shayol Ghul.
Faolain and Theodrin swear fealty to Egwene. Egwene discovers that Lan's warder bond was passed over from Moiraine to Myrelle. As this is strongly against custom, she uses this to force Myrelle and Nisao to swear to her as well. Finally she sends Lan to Ebou Dar.
Mat recognizes a darkfriend and follows her to Jaichim Carridin's house. He meets queen Tylin and later he is attacked in the Wandering Woman.
Cadsuane arrives and immediately challenges Rand.
Sevanna meets with Sammael and Graendal in disguise.
Mat is attacked once again on Swovan Night and realizes that Birgitte is the actual legendary archer Birgitte.
Nynaeve and Elayne apologize for how they have been treating Mat and accept his help with finding the Bowl of the Winds. Mat moves into the palace and Tylin starts chasing him.
The Seanchan attack and conquer Amador and the Fortress of the Light.
Morgase abdicates the throne of Andor and meets the High Lady Suroth. Former spymaster of the children of the light Balwer helps her escape from Amador.
Rand and Perrin stage a fight to confuse their enemies. Perrin leads an army together with Faile and Berelain to Ghealdan in order to confront the Prophet.
The rulers of the borderlands unite and decide to ride south to confront the Dragon Reborn.
Moghedien uses balefire on Nynaeve's ship and she almost drowns. While trying to escape the sinking ship Nynaeve breaks free from her block and eventually she is rescued by Lan.
Nynaeve and Lan get married on a Sea Folk ship.
Rand is wounded by Padan Fain using the ruby dagger from Shadar Logoth.
Flinn manages to partially heal Rand by making his two unhealable wounds fight each other.
Mat, Nynaeve and Elayne find the Bowl of the Winds and have a tense encounter with a gholam. Elayne and Nynaeve evacuate with the Bowl to the Kin's farm. While Mat is looking for Olver the Seanchan invade Ebou Dar.
Elayne, Nynaeve and Aviendha use the Bowl of the Winds with the help of the Kin and the Sea Folk.
When the Seanchan attack the farm they flee to Andor, leaving behind a massive explosion due to a partially unwoven gateway.
Rand gathers his Asha'man and Bashere's army to invade Illian.
Rand invades Illian with his Asha'man and Bashere's army.
The invasion is succesful and Rand follows Sammael to Shadar Logoth. He encounters a mysterious male channeler and Sammael is apparently killed by Mashadar.
Perrin sends a delegation into the city of Bethal to gather information. He rescues Morgase (in disguise) and her followers from the Prophet's thugs and they take service as Faile's attendants.
After Elyas arrives at Perrin's camp, Berelain brings Queen Alliandre of Ghealdan with her from Bethal. She swears fealty to him and accompanies them southward to deal with the Prophet.
Cadsuane and Sorilea decide to work together to teach Rand to laugh again. Sorilea teaches Cadsuane Traveling.
Asha'man begin to arrive and Rand travels to somewhere north of Illian. Narishma returns with Callandor, for which Rand sent him to Tear to retrieve from the Stone.
Rand gathers more forces from Lords and Ladies he does not trust to be left alone to ue them against the Seanchan.
Egwene meets with leaders of Andoran and Murandian armies. Talmanes tells her that the Band made a deal with King Roedran will stay in Murandy waiting for Mat to return from Ebou Dar.
Egwene seizes control of the rebel force by tricking them into declaring war upon Elaida, which gives the Amyrlin full authority on matters involving the war.
Davram Bashere arrives at Rand's camp.
Rand's army begins searching for Seanchan troops. Rand survives an assasination attempt.
Rand battles the Seanchan army east of Ebou Dar. In the fight, he uses Callandor and completely loses control, inflicting large casualties on the Seanchan as well as his own army causing both sides retreat.
The Aes Sedai from the White Tower arrive at the Black Tower and are captured.
Rand returns to Cairhien and is punished by the Maidens of the Spear for going to battle without letting them protect him.
Elayne arrives in Caemlyn and announces her claim for the throne of Andor.
Rand is attacked by a few of his Asha'man. He manages to escape just in time before a massive explosion destroys a large part of the Sun Palace.
In an effort to confuse his enemies, Rand takes Min and travels to Rhuidean inquiring about Shara.
Aviendha and Elayne are bonded as first-sisters.
In an effort to confuse his enemies, Rand takes Min and travels to Tear inquiring about Chachin.
Perrin convinces Masema to travel with him to Cairhien to meet Rand. However, Masema refuses to use a gateway and insists on taking his whole army.
Faile, Morgase and Alliandra are captured by the Shaido.
Faile and the others are marked as Sevanna's personal gai'shain and ordered to spy on her.
Perrin decides to follow the Aiel southward to free Faile. Masema and his army come with him.
Dyelin tells Elayne of a massive borderland army gathering in Braem Wood. After Doiln Mellar saves Elayne from a fake assasination attempt, she promotes him to Captain.
Rand and Min arrive in Caemlyn. Rand convinces Nynaeve to help him cleanse saidin. Elayne, Aviendha and Min use a modified warder bond to allow all three of them to bond him.
Moridin commands Demandred, Graendal, Cyndane, Aran'gar and Osan'gar to meet near Shayol Ghul. They discuss Rand's plan to use the Choedan Kal to cleanse saidin.
Tuon arrives in Ebou Dar along with a giant flood of Seanchan settlers.
Mat negotiates passage out of Ebou Dar with Valan Luca's menagerie. In the city he is attacked by the gholam, but Noal Charin appears and rescues him.
Mat agrees to help Joline, Teslyn and Edesina flee from the Seanchan when he leaves.
On his mission to kill the asha'man who tried to assasinate him in Cairhien, Rand kills Rochaid in Far Madding where channeling is impossible. Kisman manages to escape Rand, but Padan Fain kills him with his dagger.
Cadsuane and other Aes Sedai arrive in Far Madding.
When Tylin and Suroth leave for a tour of Altara, Mat begins planning his escape.
Egwene and her rebel army travel to Tar Valon and begin the siege of the city.
Elayne meets with the borderland rulers. She convinces them that they should search for Rand in Murandy.
Bayle Domon arranges a meeting between Mat and Egeanin. She joins his escape and agrees to provide three sul'dam to get the Aes Sedai out of the city.
While freeing the captured Aes Sedai Mat also frees the Sea Folk damane. When he leaves the palace he is surprised by Tuon and finds out that she is the Daughter of the Nine Moons, who he is destined to marry. He decides to take her with him.
Mat's party succesfully escapes from Ebou Dar.
When a contender for the throne arrives the siege of Caemlyn begins.
Rand accepts Cadsuane as his advisor.
Thinking he has finally found the remaining darkfriend Asha'man, Rand falls in a trap laid by Padan Fain. Rand wounds Fain who manages to escape. Lan and Rand are taken as prisoners to the Counsels.
Cadsuane and Nynaeve intimidate the Counsels into letting Rand and Lan go by using special ter'angreal allowing them to channel where it was thought to be impossible.
Rand and Nynaeve begin channeling absolutely massive amounts of saidin and saidar to cleanse the Dark One's taint.
Cadsuane protects Rand and Nynaeve as some Forsaken begin to arrive.
Demandred arrives and notes a black dome over Shadar Logoth. He is intent on stopping Rand but is quickly attacked with huge flames. Realizing that women must have developed ter'angreal to track channeling men, he runs.
More forsaken come and go but the defense holds strong. Suddenly the black dome collapses in on itself: the taint has been cleansed. The female access key has melted.
When the destruction of the Choedan Kal is discovered, word spreads that the Time of Illusions has come to an end.
Perrin finds traces of darkhounds around his camp. Berelain gives him a letter from Suroth taken from Masema, giving permission for anything the bearer wants.
Blackguard Furyk Karede leaves Ebou Dar searching for Tuon
Rand confronts Logain about the bonding of the sisters, and he decides to seek a truce with the Seanchan.
Galad kills Eamon Valda in a duel over the torture of his mother Morgase. He then becomes Lord Captain Commander of the Children of the Light and leads them away from the Seanchan.
Perrin goes to So Habor to buy food for his people.
Rodel Ituralde begins his raiding against the Seanchan, trying to bait them into a trap.
Semirhage tells Suroth that the entire Seanchan noble family has been killed, the Seanchan continent is in Chaos and Suroth can be the Empress.
One of the sul'dam with Mat flees while Mat takes Tuon and Selucia shopping in Jurador. They chase her and eventually have to kill her right before she reaches Coramen to prevent her from betraying them.
On a mission to turn the harbor chains of Tar Valon into cuendillar so that they can not be opened any more, Egwene is captured by the Tower Aes Sedai.
Egwene decides to not escape and hatches a plan to undermine Elaida from within the Tower.
Beonin defects from the rebels and teaches Elaida and Tarna how to travel.
Mat convinces Aludra to use her fireworks as weapons for the Band.
Perrin meets with a Seanchan Banner-General and makes a deal to attack the Shaido together.
While out riding with Tuon on the horse Mat gave her, they encounter the ruins of what used to be Londaren Cor. Mat comes to he realization that he is still linked to the Eelfinn.
Mat agrees to help Thom rescue Moiraine from the Tower of Ghenjei.
Egwene sees Beonin in the tower and accuses her of betraying the rebels. Convincing Beonin she is still the amyrlin, Egwene convinces her to help undermine Elaida.
Thom discovers that the gholam is still after Mat. In Maderin they learn that Tuon has been betrayed and is being hunted. Mat's party leaves the menagerie to travel faster.
Perrin and his Seanchan ally gather a large amount of Forkroot.
A giant swarm of trollocs and shades attack the manor house. Lews Therin Telamon seizes control of saidin from Rand and uses complicated and extremely deadly weaves to decimate the enemy force. After the attack Bashere returns with word that the Seanchan Daughter of the Nine moons is willing to meet Rand.
Nynaeve takes Lan to World's End when he tells her he will ride to Malkier.
Nynaeve begins recruiting people to ride with Lan to Tarwin's Gap.
Rand visits Tear where Darlin is crowned King after negotations with the rebels. He then sends some nobles to Arad Doman to restore order.
Logain, on Rand's behalf, instructs the Sea Folk to bring food to Arad Doman. The Sea Folk learn that the Amayar have commited mass suicide upon the destruction of the female Choedan Kal.
Delana and Halima, who was Aran'gar in disguise, escape the rebel Aes Sedai before they are captured.
Mat is informed by Vanin, who also brought Talmanes with him, that the pass he wanted to take is blocked. Talmanes finds him and takes him to the camp of the Band. Mat begins to study the positions of the Seanchan armies.
Perrin dumps the forkroot in the aqueduct leading to Malden.
Rand arrives for his negotiation with the Daughter of the Nine Moons. However, Lews Therin recognizes her as Semirhage. She attacks him with a fireball and his left hand is burned off. Then Semirhage is captured and Rand sends the Seanchan back, still looking for peace.
In order to lure a Seanchan army away from his escape route, Mat attacks several Seanchan camps and a group of lancers.
Perrin and the Seanchan defeat the Shaido and rescue Faile. Perrin is attacked by Aram, who was incluenced by the Prophet. The Prophet's army is mostly broken.
Faile and her followers kill Masema.
Moridin summons Graendal, Demandred and Mesaana to meet with him in a tower in the Blight. Moridin forbids the others to rescue Semirhage. He tells Graendal of Rand's intention to bring peace to Arad Doman, and orders her to stop him.
Rodel Ituralde lures a large army of Seanchan in a trap and defeats it with his own much smaller army.
After following Doilin Mellar, Elayne discovers darkfriend Aes Sedai in Caemlyn. While trying to capture them Vandene is killed when she avenges her killed sister and Elayne is kidnapped.
Birgitte rescues Elayne with soldiers she gathered and help from the Sea Folk channelers still in Caemlyn. The darkfriends are captured, and Elayne attacks the besiegers of Caemlyn from behind, clearing the siege.
More nobles arrive in Caemlyn and Elayne manages to convince enough of them to support her, finally gaining the throne of Andor.
Men loyal to Tuon have found Mat's army. After she says she trusts them, Mat lets her go with them back to Ebou Dar. Tuon completes the ceremony Mat unknowingly started in Ebou Dar, officially marrying them and making Mat the Prince of the Ravens. Mat succesfully baits a troop of horsemen into a fight to buy Tuon time to get away.
Rand arrives in Arad Doman
Mat and the band come across the village of Hinderstap, and are almost killed when a massive brutal fight breaks out at sundown. The following morning, all of the townspeople are alive again and explain that this happens to them every night.
Mat finds out that Verin is the one who has been searching for him. She agrees to make a gateway for Mat to go to Caemlyn, if he agrees to either wait 30 days in Caemlyn and not open her letter, or not wait and do whatever it says.
Rand finds Ituralde in an abandoned stedding and convinces him to join him. He intends to move Ituralde's forces to Saldaea.
Rand encounters Moridin in Tel'aran'rhiod. He recognises him as Ishamael, and realises that the non-balefired dead Forsaken are being reincarnated. Afterwards, he tells Min of the encounter, and of the voice of Lews Therin in his head. Min tells him of her belief that he will need to break the Seals.
Semirhage is freed by Shaidar Haran. Elza gives her the Domination Band to capture Rand.
Rand inspects Ituralde's troops in Saldaea near the Blight.
Upon Rand's return, Semirhage traps him with the Domination Band, and starts forcing him to kill Min. He frees himself using the True Power, using balefire on both Semirhage and Elza. Afterwards he exiles Cadsuane for losing the Domination Band.
Aviendha finally declares herself ready to become a Wise One. She is accepted by the others, and Travels to Cold Rocks Hold, on her way to Rhuidean.
Rand makes a ceremonial entrance into Bandar Eban.
Mat meets with Elayne and they agree to a deal concerning the Dragons. Mass production of the new weapons begins straight away.
Nynaeve finds out where a messenger supposedly from the king was brought, and brings him to Rand. She attempts to remove the compulsion from his brain, and before he dies of shock, he manages to say "Natrin's Barrow".
Rand meets with Tuon and attempts to impose an alliance, but Tuon manages to resist. After Rand leaves, Tuon assumes the title of Empress and orders general Galgan to prepare a strike against the White Tower.
Rand sends Lord Ramshalan as an emissary to Natrin's Barrow. When he returns under Compulsion, Rand balefires the entire fortress, destroying Graendal. In the aftermath, a concerned Min and Nynaeve tell Cadsuane and the Aiel.
Graendal, who used Aran'gar and Delana to place the compulsion on Ramsalam, discovered just in time what was about to happen. To make it seem like she was dead, she shielded Delana and her fellow Chosen. She escaped through a gateway, leaving them to die.
Perrin's army meets the Whitecloaks under leadership of Galad, who have taken some of Perrin's people hostage. The armies prepare to fight, but Perrin and Galad agree to meet first.
Gawyn finally makes up his mind about where his loyalties lie and leaves the White Tower to join Egwene's rebel army.
Egwene is summoned to attend another dinner with Elaida and five other Sitters. She and Elaida argue, and Elaida attacks her with the Power. Egwene is taken away to a cell.
When Galad meets Perrin, they clash wills. Perrin agrees to a trial of his murder of the whitecloaks from when he was fleeing the Two Tivers. When Galad, prepares to leave, he recognizes Maighdin as Morgase.
Rand and his forces prepare to leave Arad Doman and Travel to Tear. As they are leaving, Rand is told all the food in the city has spoiled. He leaves anyway. In Tear, he orders Bashere to find out where the Borderland rulers are camped.
Verin reveals she is Black Ajah, and that she has taken poison. Before she dies, she gives Egwene her research on the Black Ajah. She also warns Egwene of Mesaana's presence in the Tower.
The Seanchan raid the white tower, using their raken and to'raken. The White Tower is completely unprepared, and many Aes Sedai are taken captive. Egwene leads a group of novices in the fighting, and fetches Vora's sa'angreal to unleash her power upon the flying seanchan beasts, bringing many of them down. In the chaos, Elaida is taken by the Seanchan and made a damane.
Egwene uses Verin's list to catch many of the back ajah in the rebel camp. After the tower accepts her as the amyrlin, she is formally raised by them. Once in the tower, the Aes Sedai are unified again and Egwene again uses Verin's list, now for the tower Aes Sedai
Tam is brought to Rand by Cadsuane. Their talk leads to a confrontation and Rand almost kills Tam. Once he realises what he is doing, he travels away to Ebou Dar to finish the Seanchan once and for all.
Near Ebou Dar, Rand stays the night with some tinkers. In the morning he goes into Ebou Dar meaning to kill all of the Seanchan. In the city however, he finds a peaceful and ordered life. This makes him change his plans, and he travels to Dragonmount.
Mat lays a trap for the gholam in Caemlyn. Because he cannot directly kill the gholam, he uses Elayne's copy foxheads to force the gholam off of a skimming platform to fall endlessly into the void.
Rand sits on the top of Dragonmount and finally realises that he should not be as hard as he is trying to be, living with no emotion. It is his love for the people he cares about that gives him a reason to do what he must do. He destroys the male Choedan Kal, the sun breaks through the clouds and Rand laughs again for the first time in far too long.
Perrin sees a reflection of Rand in the Wolf Dream. There is a large gathering of wolves to witness the event. When Rand overcomes the darkness, the wolves howl in victory: the Last Hunt has come.
Nynaeve finds a way to heal the madness caused by the Dark One's taint.
Perrin is found guilty of the murder of the whitecloaks. However, Galad agrees to let his punishment wait until the end of the Last Battle.
Nynaeve is tested to officially be Aes Sedai. The testing is made much harder than it should have been, and after some controversy she is raised to be Aes Sedai. Immediately she finds Myrelle and takes Lan's bond from her.
Rand visits Egwene in the White Tower. He tells her that he intends to break the seals to the Dark One's prison in one month, and invites her to the Field of Merrilor to discuss his plans the day before.
Egwene meets with some windfinders and Aiel Wise Ones to propose a cooperation between the organisations. She also uses this meeting to bait Mesaana and the Black Ajah.
Perrin takes the dreamspike to Tar Valon and fights slayer, while coming across Egwene who is fighting the Black Ajah there. Perrin uses a nightmare to destroy the Dreamspike, and Egwene uses the power of the dream world to turn Mesaana into a simpleton.
When Egwene wakes up, she finds that Gawyn is badly hurt, having saved her life from three Seanchan bloodknives who were left behind after the raid. She bonds him as her warder.
Perrin turns to the smithy to find clarity. Neald assists him in making a great power-wrought hammer, which Perrin calls Mah'alleinir: He Who Soars.
Perrin saves the whitecloaks from a big trolloc ambush, and offers to take them to the last battle, if they will accept his command. Galad accepts, and names Perrin's punishment from the trial: a blood price for the families and a requirement to fight in the Last Battle.
Rand returns to Tear and apologizes to Tam. He tells Darlin to mobilize his forces and pardons Cadsuane.
Mat comes to Perrin's camp to talk and warn Perrin about possible assassins. Together, they go to Caemlyn.
Rand returns to Bander Eban and returns order there.
Perrin and Elayne meet to talk about Perrin naming himself a Lord. Eventually they come to an agreement making Perrin High Lord, steward of the Dragon's seat in Andor, the Two Rivers.
When Ituralde is fighting in the city killing as many trollocs as possible, the situation seems hopeless. Then Rand appears, talks with Ituralde and travels to north of the city. He completely annihilates the trolloc army, but warns that he can not do something like that again because the direct confrontation must happen at Shayol Ghul at the right time.
Mat, Thom and Noal go into the Tower of Ghenjei to rescue Moiraine. In an agreement with the Eelfinn, Mat agrees to give them his left yee in exchange for Moiraine.
When the party tries to leave, they discover the trick of the Eelfinn. While the Eelfinn agreed to let them go, the Aelfinn did not. In a chaotic flight, Noal sacrifices himself to let the others escape and tells them he is the legendary Jain Farstrider.
Rand meets with the borderland rulers. He coerces them into swearing allegiance to him, because if they do not they will not fight in the last battle.
Trollocs flood through the waygate in Caemlyn, destroying the city. Talmanes and the Band of the Red Hand manage to save the Dragons.
Rand meets with Egwene and the rulers of all the nations and outlines his Dragon’s Peace. When agreement seems far off and tensions rise, Moiraine enters the tent.
Finally a plan is agreed upon, and the coalition decides to send help to Lan, who is fighting at the Gap. There will be four battlefields, with a great commander leading each army.
Rand has dinner with Elayne near Caemlyn and gives her a Seed which can be used to create new angreal. She gives him a dagger ter'angreal to hide him from the Shadow.
In Lan's tent in Shienar, Rand gives him two crowns. One for him and one for Nynaeve. When Rand joins the fighting, Taim and other dreadlords immediately turn on him and he retreats.
Mat returns to Ebou Dar and saves Tuon from an assasination attempt by a Gray Man.
Perrin visits Rand to ask him to make a gateway so he can enter the wolf dream in the flesh. Perrin and Gaul enter and start to track down Slayer.
Perrin travels to the Black Tower to get the Dreampsike away from there and force Slayer to come to him. He meets Lanfear, who tries to get him to work together with her but he refuses.
Logain is rescued by Androl, Pevara and others while Taim and his Dreadlords are trying to Turn him to the shadow.
Rand meets with Mat and Tuon in Ebou Dar. Tuon signs the Dragon’s Peace and the Seanchan join the Last Battle.
When Rand travels to the White Tower to give Egwene a ribbon, he discovers that the shadow has stolen the seals to the Dark One's prison.
Demandred, as Bao the Wyld, leads the Sharans into battle completely destroying the white tower’s camp at the kandor battlefield.
Rand travels to Shayol Ghul and enters the mountain, beginning the Last Battle against the dark one.
Perrin stops Slayer from killing Rand and places the Dreamspike in Shayol Ghul so there is only one way in.
Near Cairhien, Elayne’s army defeats an army of Trollocs only to discover a second army is much closer than they thought, as the scouts they had were not used by Davram Bashere. Elayne relieves him of his duty as commander, suspecting him to be a darkfriend.
Lan discovers a plot involving the great captain Agelmar Jagad to trap the armies of the borderlanders while they are retreating from the Gap, and relieves Agelmar Jagad of his duty as commander.
On the brink of defeat, Elayne's army is rescued by the arrival of Logain and the asha’man.
Perrin discovers that Graendal is using tel'aran'rhiod to use Compulsion on each of the great captains
Tuon discovers that Min can see visions, and appoints her as her Truthspeaker.
Realising that Gareth Bryne is under compulsion, Egwene surrenders command of her armies to the one man she knows can not be under compulsion because of his fox head: Matrim Cauthon.
Mat decides to let all the forces of the light retreat to a central battlefield, back to where it all began: the field of Merrilor.
The transport of the Horn of Valere goes horribly wrong, when a bubble of evil causes them to enter a gateway to the blight. Faile sees shayol ghul in the distance and decides to travel to their armies there.
Perrin is gravely injured in a fight with Slayer.
Perrin manages to leave tel'aran'rhiod at the field of Merrilor and is found by Master Luhhan.
Nynaeve finds Alanna in the Pit of Doom and realizes she has to heal her to prevent her bond with Rand from driving him mad as she dies, but cannot use the one power as she is linked with Rand. She starts using her old school herbs.
Rand battles the Dark One and challenges him, saying the dark one can only win if he breaks the will of the people, and that will never happen.
In a long fight against the Shadow’s best general Demandred, Mat knows he must lose graciously to draw the enemy in for a trap.
Gawyn tries to kill Demandred, who is annihilating enormous numbers of the light’s forces with Balefire. He fails in his attempt and eventually dies, filling Egwene who lost her warder with grief.
Tuon uses an assasination attempt on her, which kills Siuan, to start Mat’s gamble. She withdraws all of the Seanchan forces.
Galad fights Demandred with the Foxhead given by Mat but does not manage to kill him. When Logain also attacks Demandred, Galad is brought away to Mayene while Demandred is distracted. Logain does not manage to kill Demandred, but he does escape.
Egwene manages to find an answer to the balefire the Shadow has been using. In an amazing self-sacrifice she overdraws the one power to restore balance and kill Mazrim Taim and hundreds of the enemy Sharan channelers.
Lan personally fights Demandred. He finally manages to kill him by Sheathing the Sword, saying “I didn’t come here to win, I came here to kill you”.
With the enemy having lost their best general, Mat's plan succeeds. The enemy moves in, Mat divides their forces and with the return of the Seanchan and Olver vlowing the Horn of Valere, the army is crushed. Moghedien is captured and taken as a damane.
Aviendha travels with Graendal in a gateway. There she tries to unravel the gateway and in the explosion graendal's compulsion lands on herself.
Mat takes Olver to Thakan'Dar where the Heroes of the Horn join the fight against the Shadowspawn.
Perrin manages to defeat Slayer at last and leads the wolves, along with wolves called by the Horn of Valere, against the Shadow's darkhounds.
Fain has joined the battlefield looking for Rand, but Mat slips in between his mist to which he is immune because of his relation with the dagger and kills him.
Learning from Lews Therin's mistakes, Rand uses saidin, saidar and even the true power through Moridin and Callandor to seal the bore again. Logain breaks the seals of the old prison, and the Dark One is imprisoned once again.
